SCR smile like men before departure. Stage names from left: Clint Enormous, Ricky Danger, Rude Julias Bangfast.

Preparing to take the first steps, or rotations, of the PD. The CM is hopelessly overloaded, it's damaged windscreen wipers are no match for English rain, and we are an hour late. We point ourselves at the coast, accelerate, and hope for the best.

RJB relaxing in our ferry suite.

Zippy relaxing on deck.

Sunset at garage about half-way through Spain. After sixteen hours non-stop driving, we eventually made it to the meet-up near Gibraltar at 12ish. Grimly rating the finding of a bar more important than the finding of a hotel, RJB and CE eventually ended up on the Sahara Gull's floor, and RD ended up somewhere or another.

We got to the Spanish bit at the top of Morocco quite early, despite taking a confused diversion on the way to the ferry, which may well have caused some of the teams following us to miss it, and taught us a golden PD rule: If in doubt, drop behind someone else, thus making anything bad which happens their fault.

The border crossing took three hours, but we were able to pay a friendly local wizard to do everything for us, whist we relaxed in theoretical deck chairs sipping imaginary gin and tonics. Happily, they didn't find the slabs of beer, gin and Christmas port hidden around the CliveMobile.
