July 14th 2006. SCR and Team Brick leave Swindon early to meet Team Tony at the 1:30 Calais-Berloigne crossing. CliveCab makes a catastrophic start by grinding to a halt at Reading with major fuel starvation issues. A new fuel tank pick-up is fashioned at Reading services whilst missing ferry.

Team Brick and Team Tony continue to a late-night rendezvous at Calais, SCR overheat and break down with further fuel woes outside London. SCR christen the CC's sleeping lounge whilst waiting for the 4th recovery van of the day, arriving back at Kemble (30 miles further from Vladivostok than Swindon) at 3:30am.
